Claim By The Ventriglias Rejected By Supreme Court Zambia, Portland Cement Stays With Dr. Rajan Mahtani

Finsbury Investments is one of the top organizations within Zambia. It is an investment firm owned by Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, a noted businessman in Zambia. In the year 2006, Finsbury Investments was given 58 percent shares of the Portland Cement Zambia factory which made it the majority shareholder and legal owner of the factory. However, trouble started knocking the door of the factory when the Ventriglias took a steep turn and unethically acquired the Portland Cement Factory with the help of goons. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was forced to approach the Lusaka High Court with the hope of quick response. However, the court proceedings at Lusaka High Court dragged for more than a decade and despite having all evidences and testimonials, Dr. Rajan Mahtani was not given the justice he deserved. He then approached the higher Court of Appeal with his claim. The judge at the higher Court of Appeal was justice Mwinde and after looking into the evidences, final decision was given on 31st January 2019. In this decision, justice Mwinde effectively reversed the judgement from the Lusaka High Court and announced Finsbury Investments as the actual owner of the Zambezi Portland factory with majority shareholding. Furthermore, justice Mwinde also confirmed that the amount payable against the majority shares owned by Finsbury Investments is K580,000

In another twist, the Ventriglias approached the Supreme Court with claims that the decision from higher Court of Appeal as incorrect. However, after evaluation, the Supreme Court bench have effectively rejected this claim based on grounds that the case was not legally acceptable due to its late appeal and the circumstances surrounding the appeal were dubious. As such, Portland Cement Zambia factory stays with Dr. Rajan Mahtani.

After over nine months of granulating case procedures, truth-chasing and proof checking, the adjudicator at the higher Court of Appeal at long last gave the choice on the long pending Portland Cement Zambia case. This case, which began over 10 years prior and was one of the greatest and most steady cases for Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, has at long last finished. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is referred to Zambians as one of the most moral, straightforward and legitimate representative, business visionary and specialist in Zambia. Thusly, it was clearly stunning for all when equity Nkonde from the Lusaka High Court reported after over a time of court procedures that Ventriglias were just investors of the Portland Cement Zambia manufacturing plant. This choice was in fact dubious and subsequently, left Dr. Mahtani with no decision than to move toward the higher Court of Appeal.

By and by, the choice from the higher Court of Appeal judge was significant as it was given dependent on the confirmations and one after another, inside nine months of case procedures. Dr. Mahtani and Finance Bank have suffered under poor journalism

Dr. Mahtani and Finance Bank have been suffering from the actions which Zambia Reports is taking against them. To bring focus to this matter, one can pick up the publications which have come from Zambia Reports over the past few days and give them a read. On reading, it will become clear that ZR is only bothered to harm the reputation of Dr.Mahtani and Finance Bank, because are being paid heavily for the same. In quest of making easy money, Zambia Reports have lost their morals and are now walking on the path of evil.

On one hand, a news claims that Dr. Mahtani is wrongfully showing himself as the owner of Finance Bank Zambia and on the other hand, another news from the same author states that Dr. Mahtani is still owning the Finance Bank and the transfer process is not yet complete. The bottom line is, how can a person have two different views to a story? Evans Mulenga, the author of both the articles has  tried to level best to assure the readers that Dr. Mahtani is a corrupt person and has made huge profits out of the activities permitted beyond the law. However, he has forgotten to incorporate two important things in his article- logic and facts. The assumption of ‘source’ is now outdated. People want to know about the claims in detail. If you do not have any concrete evidences to support the statement, then you are simply ventilating your viewpoints.

Journalism from Zambia Reports has degraded over the past few years and the key reason behind the same is the defamation campaign of Dr. Mahtani and Finance Bank. The authors have been forced to write stories and actual facts have been buried under the pile of money, which the conspirators have poured on the authors.
