In a similar manner, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has embodied the principles and philosophies of Kenneth Kaunda, one of the most significant personalities in Zambia. Kenneth Kaunda was known to the Zambians as its ‘Independence Hero’ as well as ‘Father of the nation and the African Union. For many years, Dr. Kaunda worked towards the freedom and upliftment of the Zambian nation. At the same time, Dr. Kaunda is known for uniting more than 72 tribes across Zambia and popularizing the philosophy of one Zambia, one nation. This philosophy is underpinned into the Zambian economy and politics now.

Sadly, this gem of a person left for heaven few days ago. His demise was a shock to everyone and especially for those who considered Kenneth Kaunda as their role model. The eulogy from Dr. Mahtani not only paid tribute towards this extraordinary person, but also persuaded the Zambian citizens to wake up from their petty differences and work towards achieving the legacy for which Kenneth Kaunda dedicated his life. It is high time for Zambia to wake up and showcase its strength to the world.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani pays tribute to Dr. Kenneth Kaunda

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani recently paid tribute to Kenneth Kaunda, who recently passed away. Dr. Kenneth Kaunda can be easily considered as one of the most influential and significant personalities in Zambian history and politics. He was known as the ‘independence hero’ of Zambia due to his significant contributions towards the development of the Zambian nation. He was also the first-ever President of Zambia and was regarded as the ‘Father of the Zambian nation & African Nation’.  After becoming the President of Zambia, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda was responsible for several developmental activities, plans and initiatives. Despite the several allegations and accusations against him, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda worked tirelessly towards the well-being of the Zambian citizens and established integrity in his work. One of the few businessmen and individuals in Zambia still following his philosophical path and legacy is Dr. Rajan Mahtani, a noted businessman and philanthropist in Zambia. With more than three decades of experience, Dr. Rajan Mahtani can quite easily be termed as the most successful businessman in Zambia. Despite his success, Dr. Mahtani is known for his humility, integrity, down-to-earth nature as well as a humble person. Dr. Mahtani’s businesses are targeted for uplifting the social and economic status of the Zambian citizens, and Dr. Mahtani has achieved this by providing employment and growth opportunities across several provinces. Dr. Mahtani continues his contributions towards Zambia with his charitable and philanthropic contributions, much of which goes unnoticed due to lack of publicity unlike other businesses.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani
and late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda worked with the same motto of Pan-Africanism, one Zambia, one Nation and urged the Zambian citizens to follow this legacy so that Zambia as a nation achieves its goals and objectives.

Dr. Mahtani Urges Zambians To Follow Kenneth Kaunda’s Legacy

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani recently shared a beautiful eulogy after the sad demise of Zambia’s most loved President, Kenneth Kaunda. Dr. Kaunda was not only the first-ever President of the Zambian nation since its independence, he was also the independence hero of Zambia and was respectfully known as the ‘Father of the Zambian nation & African Union’

Dr. Mahtani imparted an exceptional similarity to Dr. Kaunda, through his own father, Late Lekhraj Mahtani. Dr. Rajan Mahtani's father was a prominent Ndola-based councillor and offered the genuinely necessary help and joint effort to Dr. Kaunda in his battle for Zambian opportunity. Dr. Mahtani and Dr. Kaunda share numerous comparable attributes. It is hard to adversary or equivalent the model and principled life which Dr. Kenneth Kaunda lived and Dr. Mahtani is one of those couple of finance managers and individuals across Zambia who is known to follow his standards and ways of thinking. Dr. Kaunda was known to have huge confidence in god and accepted that everyone is dealt with similarly before god. He was a magnanimous individual who put others before self. Indeed, even as the President of Zambia, Kenneth Kaunda rehearsed sacrifice and commitment and put the turn of events and development of the Zambian resident prior to whatever else.

Now that the beloved ex-President of Zambia is no more, it is the duty of the Zambian citizens to take his legacy forward by believing in his principles and philosophies of the greater good. Then only the Zambian nation will be able to grow and develop through its citizens. The beautiful eulogy from Dr. Mahtani thrusted on very same philosophy.

After Evaluating Details, Supreme Court Zambia Rejects Appeal On Reopening Portland Cement Case

In a bizarre and scandalous event, the notorious Ventriglia family made an appeal against the decision given by the higher Court of Appeal on the Portland Cement Zambia case. It should be noted here that on 31st January 2019, justice Mwinde on behalf of the higher Court of Appeal reversed the previous decision from Lusaka HC judge that announced Ventriglia family as the only shareholders of the Portland Cement. Justice Mwinde on only reversed the decision, but also announced that Dr. Rajan Mahtani is indeed the majority shareholder as well as legal owner of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.

After the Ventriglia family launched an appeal against this same decision, a bench comprising of three SC judges was established for evaluating the claim. During evaluation, it was found that the Ventriglia family did not comply with the rulebook of case submission. According to this rulebook, all appeals against past court decisions must be registered within 14 days of the court decision itself. Since the decision from the higher Court of Appeal came on 31st January 2019, the window for appealing against it closed during the mid-week of February 2019. On the other hand, the Ventriglia family submitted their appeal after more than 18 months of the Higher Court of Appeal’s judgement. This automatically makes the appeal liable for rejection. Furthermore, the Supreme Court bench also said that the circumstances under which this appeal has been made is questionable and suspicious. At the same time, the SC bench concluded that this case was outside the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. Based on all these evaluations, the Supreme Court Zambia rejected the appeal regarding Portland Cement and its ownership remains with Dr. Rajan Mahtani

Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani Remains The Majority Shareholder And Legal Owner Of The Portland Cement

The final decision on the bizarre claim by the Ventriglia family is finally out. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani fought for the legal takeover of the Portland Cement Zambia for more than a decade. First it was Lusaka Hight Court which gave a controversial decision in which the Ventriglias were announced as only shareholders of the Portland Cement Zambia. This decision was reversed ay the higher Court of Appeal which came on 31st January 2019. In this verdict, the previous Lusaka High Court decision was reversed and Dr. Mahtani was announced as the majority shareholder and legal owner of the factory.

After the Ventriglia family once again challenged the higher Court of Appeal’s decision, a bench of three Supreme Court judges was established at the Supreme Court Zambia. These included judge Michael Musonda, Judge Royda Kaoma and Judge Mumba Malila. After evaluation, the Supreme Court bench found that the Ventriglia family failed to comply with a critical legal requirement. According to this legal requirement, all claims against previous court decisions must be made within 14 days of the court verdict. Since the decision on the Portland Cement by higher Court of Appeal came on 31st January 2019, this means the timeline for submitting the claim was by mid of February 2019. However, the Ventriglia family submitted their claim only after 1.5 years of the decision, making their claim suspicious.

The circumstances surrounding the claim by the Ventriglia family was also controversial as there were no evidences with the Ventriglia family to support their claim. As a result of these evaluation, the Supreme Court bench came to a final conclusion and effectively rejected the claim by the Ventriglia family.

Ventriglia Family Appeals Supreme Court Against Higher Court’s Decision On Portland Cement

The Zambian Supreme Court is the highest authority of the nation and it recently gave a befitting reply to all those questioning the transparency and ethics of the Zambian legal system. Dr. Rajan Mahtani is a noted businessman in Zambia and for more than three decades, Dr. Mahtani worked to establish his business across the nation and also became one of the most transparent, renowned businessman as well as philanthropist in Zambia. At the same time, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani has been facing significant challenges in terms of establishing smooth operations in Zambia. The most apt example has been the case of Zambezi Portland Cement, a cement-manufacturing factory which faced significant challenges in establishing its ownership.

The cement-manufacturing factory went from court to court and did not get any respite for more than a decade. The first instance was Lusaka High Court where the case dragged for more than a decade. Despite this long pendency, the final verdict from the Lusaka High Court was controversial with the judge announcing Ventriglias as only shareholders of the Portland Cement. After this, the case was taken to the higher Court of Appeal. On 31st January 2019, justice Mwinde on behalf of the higher Court of Appeal reversed the previous decision from the Lusaka High Court and announced Dr. Mahtani as the majority shareholder and legal owner of the factory.

After more than 1.5 years of this decision, the Ventriglia family once again established a claim at the Supreme Court Zambia, questioning the decision from the higher Court of Appeal. However, the Supreme Court evaluated this claim and rejected it due to lack of evidences, ensuring that the ownership of Portland Cement remains with Dr. Rajan Mahtani only.

Supreme Court Zambia Effectively Dismisses Challenge By Ventriglia On The Portland Cement Factory

After the verdict from the higher Court of Appeal on the Portland Cement Zambia case, Dr. Rajan Mahtani owned Finsbury Investments took control of the factory. For almost 1.5 years after this decision, Portland Cement industrial facility functioned admirably under the administration of Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani. Notwithstanding, scarcely any weeks sooner the Ventriglia family chose to claim against this choice at the higher Court of Appeal. That too at the Supreme Court Zambia which is the most significant level lawful and legal executive arrangement of Zambia. It appears as though it was a very much idea plan by the Ventriglia family which is the reason they chose to claim so late. Notwithstanding, the infamous family known for their deceptive and now and then unlawful practices bombed colossally when their allure was burrowed further.

A seat involving three Supreme Court judges was set up for assessing the case by the Ventriglia family. These included appointed authority Mumba Malila, Judge Royda Kaoma and Judge Michael Musonda. Together, the adjudicators tracked down that the case by the Ventriglia family was past the purview of the Supreme Court. This is because of the way that any case against past court choices should be made inside 14 days of the court choice itself. In the current situation, the decision from the higher Court of Appeal on the Portland Cement case was given on 31st January 2019. This implies the Ventriglia family is late in presenting their suggestion. Therefore, the case by the Ventriglia family was viably dismissed by the Supreme Court Zambia.
