The 2021 Forbes-FIN annual leadership and philanthropic roundtable conference was recently concluded via online mode in Africa. Dr. Rajan Mahtani was invited as a honorary speaker in the event, which was held online as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Forbes-FIN roundtable conference is one of the most anticipated and noted business events across Africa. The business event invited personalities from across the globe as well as from across Africa to share their views, discuss about the challenges, identify solutions as well as generate financial and non-financial support to the ongoing projects across Africa. Participants, members and speakers were invited from several fields such as international business communities, international investors, opinion leaders, spiritual leaders, political leaders as well as media partners.
A highlighted part of the roundtable conference was the Forbes ‘Best of Africa’ awards, a prestigious globally renowned business awards given to outstanding leaders, entrepreneurs and businesses with significant social and economic contributions towards long-term development and growth of the Zambian nation. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was bestowed with the Forbes ‘Outstanding Entrepreneur of the Year’ award 2021 for his leadership and philanthropic contributions as well as for redefining the banking sector of Zambia. Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is the owner of one of the most successful conglomerates in Zambia. He founded the Mahtani Group in the year 1981 and quickly transformed into a conglomerate spanning several locations such as Malawi, South Africa and United Kingdom as well as several sectors such as mining, agriculture, energy, real estate, insurance and banking sector. Some of his philanthropic activities include establishing Prison Fellowship Zambia as well as establishing the Stephen Malama award with scholarship for top law students in Zambia.
