Portland Cement Zambia case was enlisted by Dr. Rajan Mahtani, very nearly 10 years back at the Lusaka High Court. Dr. Rajan Mahtani had guaranteed that his industrial facility, Zambezi Portland Cement, was wrongfully and powerfully detracted from him which incited the case at the Lusaka High Court. To help his case, Dr. Rajan Mahtani has shared various confirmations and evidences in the previous ten years of court procedures. The case was postponed for, for example, long time significantly in view of the failure of the court to give right judgment on time just as because of a few judges being exchanged at incessant interims. At long last, judge Nkonde declared a definitive judgment following a hold up of ten years. Notwithstanding, this judgment ended up being more questionable than the endless court procedures itself.
Justice Nkonde reported that the Ventriglias were only shareholders of the Zambezi Portland Cement. Obviously this judgment was misled and accordingly, Court of Appeal was drawn closer for further equity. The judge at the Court of Appeal was justice Mwinde who declared the last judgment on 31st January 2019 during the morning hours. As per this judgment, Finsbury Investments is dominant part investor of Zambezi Portland Cement and holds 58 percent shares at the industrial facility. Ventriglias are just minority investors of the Zambezi Portland Cement with 42 percent shares at the industrial facility. With this shareholding design, it is unmistakably settled that Dr. Rajan Mahtani is legitimate proprietor of the industrial facility.
Moreover, the judge from the Court of Appeal likewise said that the judge beneath him wasn't right in pronouncing Ventriglias as just investors with no confirmation or legitimate proof.
